Free back-to-school health screenings at the Joplin Walmart this weekend

JOPLIN, Mo. — Walmart is helping Joplin residents prepare for back to school with a special Wellness Day focused on family health.

Affordable immunizations and free health screenings will be available on Saturday, August 3, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Joplin Walmart pharmacists will also have access to additional wellness resources.

Immunizations include influenza, COVID-19, tetanus, chicken pox/shingles, HPV, pneumonia, mumps, rubella (MMR), whooping cough (TDAP), Hep A, Hep B and measles. In addition, health screenings include glucose, cholesterol, BMI and blood pressure checks.

“As a back-to-school destination, Walmart’s Wellness Day gives families a chance to manage their health needs alongside shopping for school supplies,” said Kevin Host, senior vice president of Walmart Pharmacy. “We are excited to offer affordable health options to Joplin on Health Day.”

Walmart says its pharmacies have hosted Wellness Days since 2014. For more information, follow this link here.
