TxDOT road work for July 15 includes I-27, I-40 bridges

Officials from the Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT) have released information about various lane closures and updates due to ongoing projects:

On Monday, crews will close the bridge from US 87 to I-27 north of Canyon to install the concrete barrier as part of the I-27 widening project. This work will take place overnight from 7pm on Monday 15th July to 6am on Tuesday 16th July. Motorists traveling north on I-27 should take the suggested detour at Buffalo Stadium Road / Country Club Road.

Beginning Monday, July 15, crews will close the bridge from US 87 to I-27 north of Canyon for the installation of concrete barriers as part of the I-27 widening project, the Texas Department of Transportation (Amarillo) said in an ad, which included a map of this suggested detour.

Expect various lane and ramp closures on westbound I-40 over the BNSF Railroad for bridge work to continue. The following ramps will be closed during this period:

  • Ross Street at the I-40 westbound on-ramp

  • I-40 westbound to the I-27 southbound exit ramp

  • I-40 west to the exit ramp to US 287 north

The work is expected to be completed by Tuesday, July 16.
