For those not caught up with America’s second-longest-running soap in history, Jackson created the role of Lucky in 1993 and played the character, who is the son of Luke and Laura Spencer (Anthony Geary and Genie Francis ), in over 380 episodes of “General Hospital.” Jackson was a regular on the soap until 2011, when he went on to play the role of Avery Barkley on another ABC show, “Nashville.”

His return to “GH” marks the first time Jackson has played Lucky since 2015, when he returned to television for a brief stint. During the series, Jackson was nominated for nine Daytime Emmy Awards and won five, in 1995, 1998, 1999, 2011 and 2012.

Soap fans have been anticipating a major return for the character since early June, when “General Hospital” executive producer Frank Valentini said on the Daytime Emmys red carpet that “a former cast member is coming back. And I think the audience is going to go crazy for it.”

In early 2024, Jackson starred in the musical drama Unsung Hero alongside Terry O’Quinn and Candace Cameron Bure. His credits also include ‘The Deep End of the Ocean’, ‘Insomnia’, ‘Venom’, ‘Tuck Everlasting’ and ‘On the Edge’. When Jackson did not return to Port Charles, actors Jacob Young and Greg Vaughan took over the role of Lucky.
