Man faces attempted murder charges after adoptive mother and brother stabbed

CINCINNATI (WXIX) – A Cincinnati man is facing attempted murder charges after he was accused of stabbing his adoptive mother and brother multiple times.

Travis Breedlove, 22, was charged last week with attempted murder, felonious assault and kidnapping for attacking Sara Hall and her 18-year-old son in April.

“He stabbed me in the eye, he stabbed me in the face, he stabbed me in the nose and he stabbed me four times in the top of the head,” Hall said in an interview in April. “He stabbed me in the top of the shoulder and the upper back twice.”

Cincinnati police arrested Breedlove on June 14. Hall said he called and threatened her a day or two before he was arrested.

“He said you wouldn’t live past the weekend,” Hall said.

Hall said the situation left her conflicted and wondered why the attack happened.

“How can you stop loving someone you raised?” Hall said. “How can you stop loving someone you love deeply from the bottom of your heart? I can’t say it won’t hurt me when I hear his sentence. I’m not going to say it won’t hurt me as we go through the process.”

Hall said he has spoken with counselors several times since the attack. She said her 18-year-old son has regular nightmares. She said her children also stopped doing some of their favorite activities, such as gymnastics or boxing.

Breedlove is in the Hamilton County Jail on $1 million bail. He is scheduled to appear in court on July 3.
