Funeral services are pending for an Emporia resident killed in Wichita this past weekend.

Jaz Brooks, 28, died during a hit-and-run accident at Central and McLean early Sunday morning. Brooks was pronounced dead after being found trapped in a car. The driver was treated at the scene.

Wichita police say a pickup truck collided with the car on the passenger side and fled the scene, but the driver, 18-year-old Peyton Allart, was arrested and booked on suspicion of failure to stop for an accident which led to death. The formal charges have not been posted on the Kansas district court’s public access portal.
