The fate of former NFL star Chandler Jones has been decided in the domestic violence case

According to Taylor Lane of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Jones can avoid prison provided he stays out of legal trouble and follows Family Court orders regarding contact with the victim.

Joneshis legal situation took a turn when entered a plea of ​​no contest, resulting in a domestic violence charge being dismissed. That plea deal allowed him to avoid a more severe sentence, Lane reported.

JonesHis troubles date back to last year when he left Las Vegas Raiders suddenly on Labor Day weekend after posting a series of disturbing messages on social media. The Raiders placed him on the non-football illness list on Sept. 20 and released him 10 days later following his arrest for violating a domestic violence protection order.

Jones’ legal woes continued to pile up

The problems didn’t end there, though Jones faced another arrest in October for a similar violation. On February 5, he pleaded not guilty to two counts of violating the protective order.

In a statement made in February, Jones noted that it is “I feel much better” indicating efforts towards personal improvement.

Jones’ release from Raiders occurred in the second year of his three-year, $51 million contract, with the team citing conduct detrimental to the organization as the reason for his departure.
