The site location was released for the Springfield Missouri temple, groundbreaking for others

The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced the location of the Springfield Missouri Temple.

The temple location will be 2720 East Farm Road #188 in Springfield, officials said.

The temple is planned to be single-stage and about 29,000 square feet on the 38-acre site.

This temple was announced by Church President Russel M. Nelson in April 2023. It will be the third temple in Missouri.

Along with the announcement of the Springfield location, Church officials also shared the initial date of the Santiago West Chile South America Temple.

Officials said the inauguration will take place on August 17, 2024, and will be attended by Second Counselor in the Church’s South America Southern Presidency, Elder Alan R. Walker.

The Santiago West Chile Temple was announced by Pres. Nelson in October 2021. It will be the fifth temple owned by the Church in Chile.

The Ribeirão Preto Brazil Temple was also inaugurated on June 22, 2024.

This inauguration was attended by the President of the Church in Brazil, Elder Joni L. Koch.

It was announced in October 2022 and is one of 23 temples in Brazil that have been announced, under construction or in use.
