Fargo golfer Tom Hoge tied for ninth at Travelers – InForum

CROMWELL, Conn. — Fargo golfer Tom Hoge moved into a new tie for the Travelers Championship when second-round play was suspended at TPC River Highlands on Friday.

Hoge shot 7-under 63 and is tied at 8-under 132 with Robert MacIntyre and Tony Finau. MacIntyre won the RBC Canadian Open three weeks ago.

Hoge’s round was tied for second best on the day with Collin Morikawa, who is 11-under 129 and tied with Akshay Bhatia, two shots behind leader Tom Kim (13-under 127).

MacIntyre’s 8-under 62 on Friday moved him 35 places in the leaderboard and tied with Hoge and Finau.

Hoge moved up 24 spots with his bogey-free 63. He made two birdies — at no. 3 and no. 9 — to go out in 33. After three pars to open the back nine, Hoge got hot, making eagle at the par-5 13th and then three pars over the final five holes to finish with a 5-under 30 on the back.

Kim followed up his opening round 62 with a 5-under 65 on Friday to maintain his lead.

Xander Schauffele, who won the PGA Championship in May, is tied for fourth with Scottie Scheffler at 10 under, although Scheffler has the 18th hole to finish.

Sungjae Im, Shane Lowry and Justin Thomas are tied for sixth at 9 under. Lowry and Thomas had finished 16th when play was suspended.

The eighth player must complete his second round on the Saturday before the third round.
