TEAM: Davies will debut!

Fremantle’s extended 26-man squad to take on the Gold Coast at Optus Stadium on Sunday has been named

Second-year player Hugh Davies has been named in the club’s extended 26-man squad and will make his AFL debut when Fremantle take on the Gold Coast at Optus Stadium on Sunday.

Davies was taken with pick 33 in the 2022 national draft and has been a key feature of Peel’s defence, playing 28 games during his time at the club, including the Thunder’s run to the 2023 WAFL grand final.

The 196cm key defender put pen to paper in December 2023, signing a two-year contract extension that will keep him at the Club until at least the end of the 2026 season.

Fullback Heath Chapman has been named on the field following his late withdrawal from last weekend’s Bulldogs clash with hamstring awareness.

Veteran forward Michael Walters is out of the squad with an injury he picked up in the club’s round 14 loss to the Bulldogs.

Key young defender Joshua Draper was left out for Sunday’s game after playing 12 straight games since debuting in round two.

Tom Emmett, Neil Erasmus and Corey Wagner have been recalled to the 26-man squad named in the extended exchange.

Fremantle’s final squad will be announced on Friday afternoon at 3pm WST on fremantlefc.com.au

Kick-off for the clash takes place at 14:00 WST, with the game broadcast live on Channel 7 and Fox Footy, as well as live on Kayo.
