“Every year, we have this wonderful local music neighborhood event, and then we give away all the money raised,” says Jessica Pachler, who has produced the event for several years. “Over the course of twenty-five years, we have donated over half a million dollars to organizations such as the Annapolis Maritime Museum, the Annapolis AM/FM Musicians Fund, the Eastport Volunteer Fire Department, the Eastport Element, the Annapolis Community Boat, Annapolis Rape Crisis Center, and others.”

This year, Eastport a Rockin’ features nearly 40 local and regional bands, showcasing the diversity and breadth of music, not to mention the sheer number of bands and musical talent in the Annapolis area.

Eastport a Rockin’ will host four different stages, “The music scene in Annapolis is phenomenal and Eastport a Rockin’ is proud to work with many musicians to create an event that celebrates their music, the Annapolis lifestyle and the sheer awesomeness of . the place we call home,” Pachler said. “We have bands that have played every year since we started, like the Eastport Oyster Boys, and bands from Priddy Music Academy and other music schools getting their first exposure to the festival.” See the list here!

The bands play for the love of the event, for the great exposure it provides, and to support a wide variety of local charities and organizations, all in an event that brings them back each year in a kind of Annapolis reunion for those involved . “We guys love being the Cal Ripkens of Eastport a Rockin’… the only band to play every festival and it also happens to be Oyster Boys’ 27th anniversary,” says Kevin Brooks of Eastport Oyster Boys. “Eastport a Rockin’ is a highlight of the summer concert season for us. We love playing for our homeport fans and our fellow music and boaters and we love our young bands and many of Naptown’s best bands coming together for a great one day celebration of all things Eastport… Up the Republic!”
