DILWORTH, MINN. (KVRR) – A man is in custody after multiple attempted carjackings and a robbery in Dilworth.

Dilworth Police were dispatched around 5:00 PM Wednesday to 1609 3rd Ave. NW in Dilworth after a 911 call where a woman can be heard yelling “Help, let me go, he’s trying to kill me!”

According to Dilworth police, the suspect approached the woman’s vehicle and threw something near it. When the victim asked what the man was doing, the suspect initially replied that he was just putting his luggage there for a minute, before saying he was going to steal his car and pulled a folding knife from his pocket, threatening to stab the victim.

The man grabbed the victim’s bag, ripping off the shoulder strap, before going on to carjack another vehicle after throwing a concrete block through the passenger side window.

Upon arrival at the scene, Dilworth Police pursued the suspect to Walmart where the male was attempting to carjack a citizen’s handicap accessible van.

When the officer found the man, he fled on foot, eventually being stopped in the Walmart parking lot after Moorhead Police arrived on the scene.

The suspect has been identified as Eric Flock, a 40-year-old New Mexico man with multiple extradition warrants out of that state.

He remains in the Clay County Jail on charges of first-degree robbery, second-degree assault, two counts of attempted vehicle theft, misdemeanor, tampering with a motor vehicle and hit-and-run.
