Kourtney Kardashian Says Rocky’s Fetal Surgery Was Due To ‘Fluid In His Lungs’

Kourtney Kardashian Barker is opening up about the ‘terrifying’ fetal surgery she underwent last summer.

In this week’s episode of The Kardashiansco-founder Lemme, 45, shared more about the emergency fetal surgery she went through before welcoming son Rocky Thirteen with husband Travis Barker, 48. As she prepares to give birth to her son during the episode, Kardashian Barker looks back on the scary moment.

“A few months ago, I had a terrifying scare where I had to have emergency surgery on my fetus,” Kardashian Barker explains in a confessional.

The scene then shifts to the mother of three as she recovers from fetal surgery. “Baby Rocky had to have fetal surgery for fluid in his lungs,” she explains.

“And it’s very rare, that this (is) the condition that he had, but it’s also super rare and lucky that we caught it. And thank you, Lord, for this successful surgery. Honestly, I’m so grateful, I’m speechless.”

Back in a confessional, Kardashian Barker notes that she was terrified after undergoing the medical procedure.

“I was definitely scared after the surgery and the fluid in his lungs. It actually started to come back and then I watched this documentary called Heal it was all about the power of positive thinking and how our thinking can really affect our health,” she says.

“And then I started talking to the baby every day, saying my prayers, and after I had that change of mind, the fluid completely disappeared and I never had a problem after that.”

During last week’s episode, Kardashian Barker showed off her fetal surgery scar while posing for her maternity session.

“I have a scar from my surgery where they went into my amniotic sac, so I’m like a fragile little egg,” she explained.

In the end, Kardashian Barker “makes it work” and gets as many pictures as possible before finally deciding not to model a third look. When Kardashian Barker sat down, she said she could feel a tightening.

“(It was) about an hour and a half and I did two looks. And then, you know, we talked about making three and I just said, ‘Let me see how my body feels,’” Kardashian Barker explained in a confessional.

“And once I went to bed, I felt like this was it. I will listen to my body. There is no reason to push this. Obviously, my health and the child’s health come first.’”

New episodes from The Kardashians drop every Thursday at 12pm ET on Hulu.
