Asheville man wins $1 million prize

A lucky Asheville resident, Peter Eckel, won a $1 million prize in April by beating 1 in 12.6 million odds to guess all five white balls.

Mega Millions is one of six North Carolina Lottery games where players have the option of purchasing tickets at a retail location or with the Game online via the lottery website or the official NC Lottery mobile app .

What are the winning Mega Millions numbers?

The Mega Millions numbers for April 23 were 11, 17, 33, 39 and 43, with a Megaball number of 14. Eckel guessed all five white balls for the $1 million win. The odds against him were 1 in 12.6 million.

How much was the Mega Millions prize?

The Mega Millions prize was $1 million; After federal and state tax withholdings, Eckel took home $715,001 from NC Lottery headquarters on Thursday, May 30.

The next Mega Millions drawing is tomorrow, Tuesday, June 4th. The jackpot is currently worth $560 million, or a cash payout option of $258.4.

Where was the winning Mega Millions ticket purchased?

Eckel bought her lucky ticket for the April 23 drawing at Enmarket on Tunnel Road in Asheville.
